How to choose best material for cooking or serving
We all have a kitchen and a dining table or some kind of set up where we eat our meals and enjoy time with family in our homes. How good it can get if you have proper set up and vessels to serve, eat and display cuisines made by you, here comes the role of good tableware. Tableware is the dishes or dishware that is mainly used for dining, serving and decorating the table.
The set up of tableware differs from occasions to occasions. It also depends on culture, cuisines, number of guests and religion. designs and yet in your budget. We all have been using ceramic tableware since time immemorial, few also prefer cooking food in ceramic cookware. This is because ceramic is considered as the healthiest material of all the materials. We will discuss it in detail but first let us get acquainted with tableware elaborately.
The 4 types of tableware :
SERVE WARE
They are used for serving food items. It mainly consists of serving bowls, platters, salad bowls, dessert bowls, casseroles, soup pots, teapots that assist in placing the food onto the table.
DINNER WARE
These are sets of dishes that comprise of plates and bowl used while dining. These are made of ceramics and vary in shape, size and color.
DRINK WARE
The object is in the shape of glass, cups and mugs that are used for drinking water or wine. They are also available in different shapes and sizes, depending on the occasion.
SILVER WARE
Another term for silverware is flatware. These are the knives and spoons and forks that are used by the individual. They are made of metal or wood.
Ceramic-ware types :
EARTHEN WARE
The longest established form of pottery. Clay is sourced vernacularly by indigenous methods and fired at the lowest temperature of all.
Example–Terracotta water Pots (Matka )
STONE WARE
This kind of pottery has a dense look resembling stone characters after high firing. The raw materials are naturally sourced but are mixed in definite proportion.
Example – Studio potted coffee mugs.
PORCELAIN
The difference between porcelain and stoneware is very vivid due to the translucent nature of porcelain clay. Usually used for making artifacts, lamp shades or filaments for light.
BONE CHINA
This is the cheap form of all kinds of ceramic, exploiting the properties of other better options. Though considered the toughest. Presence of actual bone Ash in the mix, people are averting from it in India.
Example- Khurja pots and cups.

Tips - Stacking the more frequently-used plates and bowls is okay, but to prevent scratching and chipping your fine dinnerware, put it in a padded storage case or with fabric between each piece to keep it safe.
